My name is Sgt. Cassian Castillo with the Yosemite National Park Rangers. I am requesting access to classified and highly sensitive files regarding the disappearance of Daphne Callwell.
Ms. Callwell went missing seven years ago within park boundaries. At the time of her disappearance, multiple search operations were conducted, all of which failed to locate her. She was five years old when she vanished. Given her age and the conditions of the Yosemite wilderness, it was determined to be highly unlikely that she could have survived for any extended period of time. After several months without results, she was officially listed as missing, and the case was eventually closed.
Yesterday, one of my rangers was patrolling the northwestern region of the park, approximately seventy miles from the location where Ms. Callwell was last seen by her parents. During that patrol, he observed a young girl standing alone on the side of the road. When approached, the child identified herself as Daphne and repeatedly asked for her parents, both of whom also disappeared while searching for her years ago.
The child is currently in our custody and is seated across from me as I write this. After reviewing the original case file and comparing it with the individual now in our care, I have identified several discrepancies that I cannot explain.
First, according to the original record, the mother was human and the father was Varrowyn, both from the same region. I can state with confidence that the child presently before me does not appear to be either. She is, by all visible characteristics, unmistakably elven. The file also states clearly that she was not adopted and was biologically born to her mother.
Second, she does not appear to have aged. After comparing her directly to the photographs contained in the original file, the only notable physical difference I can identify is that her ears are now pointed in the manner of an elf. Beyond that, her appearance is effectively unchanged.
Third, there are no visible signs of hardship consistent with prolonged survival in the wilderness. She appears to be wearing the same clothing shown in the original case file. Her hair is the same length. There is no dirt, weathering, scarring, or any other discernible sign that seven years have passed between the child in those records and the one now sitting in front of me.
My rangers and I have been attempting to make sense of this situation for several hours and have come up with no reasonable explanation. I am requesting an immediate federal response to this matter, along with full access to any classified records related to Daphne Callwell’s disappearance. I do not know what exactly we are dealing with, but it is clear that something is very wrong.
