The Assaf

Coven Lord
Mazen Assaf
Mazen began his life as a thief in Egypt during the time of the Ottoman occupation. He led a rebellious force and stole magical artifacts from the Ottomans that had ripped history from the lands. He had first caught the attention of the Covens after stealing from Harriers investigating the area, and had caught even more attention after stealing from Simu Florentina himself. Instead of condemning the action, it was Lord Florentina who allowed Mazen to keep his famed spectre, watching the thief use it to lead a force against the invaders to his land. Mazen Assaf was recruited to the Covens, where he found success as one of the Florentina’s greatest Harriers. His success led to his lordship, and to this day, Mazen holds his position to the credit of Simu Florentina, who could not be prouder of the Coven’s accomplishments in such a short time.
Coven History

As magic grew, tools to conjure and use that magic were created by scholars, kings, and emperors. Once these tools were used to control entire nations, and used in wars to dominate entire armies. Some are used in classrooms to educate, or misinform, the masses. It is time, of course, that silences these individuals, sweeping them away once the sands in their hourglass fill to the other side. Those artifacts, though, remain passed on from one generation to the next, allowing for centuries of dominion, sometimes cruel, sometimes evil. It is the duty of the Assaf to seize these artifacts, making sure that they, too, lie in the same graves as their masters, sleeping soundly to never be used again.
